On Wednesday 9th November, Katrina Maaka, our Pepi Mokopuna Nurse had the pleasure of introducing a Dental Educator (specialist from Lakes DHB) to whānau, kaiako me ngā tamariki i roto i Te Puna Reo o Waione, Te Kohanga Reo ki Ohau me Puawai Early Learning Centre. Pinenga Te Are, delivered her dental program presentation to all three centres which of course had a focus on oral care, brushing teeth, how often that should happen, healthy kai and shared waiata all about brushing teeth. Two staff have recently been trained to offer Jadelle insertion and removal. Hine Loughlin our Nurse Practitioner and Katrina Maaka our Registered Nurse who works with our hapū mama and pepi. Sunday, 25 September at Pounamunui Marae we held our second Marae-based free health check clinic in collaboration with Korowai Aroha and Rotorua Area Public Health Services (RAPHS). We think the weather kept more whanau from attending but those who did attend enjoyed having quality time with the health professionals assembled. We will be at Tapuaekura Marae on Sunday, 30th October.

A free vision testing clinic will be held in Rotorua next week by international charity OneSight. This opportunity is targeted at decile 1 to 3 schools and years 1 to 8 students.
